Mauve Wedding Inspiration

22 Friday Jan 2021

Mauve was such a huge trend for wedding colors in 2020 and I was not mad about it! You can use similar soft muddled colors to compliment mauve or go with bright pops of colors like Orange and Yellow or even play up the moodiness of it with deep shades like Burgundy or Hunter Green. What are your wedding colors? Will Mauve still reign supreme for 2021?

Dusty Lavender Wedding on Lake Norman

11 Wednesday Nov 2020

This wedding was a very small gathering at a Lake Norman Air bnb. Our couples have really had to think outside the box to make their celebrations happen during Covid restrictions and they’ve done a beautiful job of it. Jamie’s bouquet had a mixture of Amnesia Roses, White Ranunculus, White Tweedia, Blue Thistle, Seeded Eucalyptus, Silver Dollar Eucalyptus and Dusty Miller. Many of my Brides chose to have smaller bouquets this year so as not to be too heavy or cover their dresses up too much and I am loving these dainty bouquets!

You can’t see it but these arrangements were in beautiful gold mercury glass compotes.
I typically will choose the smaller elements from the Bride’s bouquet for the boutonnieres. And they always get wrapped in silk ribbon!

Morning Glory Farm Elopement

10 Tuesday Nov 2020

This weekend I had the pleasure of flowering a very intimate elopment at the ever gorgeous Morning Glory Farm. The Fall colors were showing off everywhere and though there was a slight chill to the air, it was by no means cold. Let’s just say it was the perfect Fall wedding weather! This couple opted to repurpose their ceremony decor on their farm tables. It was lush and beautiful and a wonderful money saver as well. Check out the pics and let us know what you think!

These bottles awaited the ceremony garland which went down the middle of them all as a runner. Votives and the favors which were little potted plants also accompanied the bottles!

I loved making this hair comb for our Bride. It’s details like these that really make a wedding stand out.

Micro Weddings During Covid 19

09 Tuesday Jun 2020

What was supposed to be a very busy Spring 2020 wedding season turned into the season of postponements, cancellations and a few “micro weddings”. Covid couldn’t stop love for a few of my clients. I was happy to help make their intimate celebrations a little more special with flowers. And if you are planning a micro wedding, reach out. I’d be happy to help you too!

I just love this bride’s more casual wedding gown. She is saving her boho dream gown for a larger celebration with friends and I’m a bit jealous! Ha! I would have loved two celebrations and two dresses!

What do you think of the micro wedding concept?

Kaitlin + Connor’s Succulent Wedding

29 Tuesday Oct 2019

Kaitlin and Connor married on a perfect Fall day in Weddington, NC at Threshold Church. Both ceremony and reception were held at the church. It is a rustic and open space with wooded views out large windows. Here’s a few cell phone pics of some of the pieces I made. Missing, are the adorable bridesmaid bouquets which were Babies Breath and Dried Lavender wrapped in burlap. Katie described her wedding style as J. Crew. She wasn’t a big flower person and so opted for mostly greenery with succulents and touches of florals around the church’s lanterns. However she went extra with her bouquet which I was thrilled to oblige! I love a big beautiful bouquet and it perfectly offset her simple gown. I used Larkspur, Campanula, Tweedia, Snapdragons, Succulents, Dusty Miller, Blueberry Branches, Eleagnus and Silver Dollar Eucalyptus. I can’t wait top see the professional pics of this wedding party by Keith + Lakyn Photography!

Time Flies!

It’s hard to believe our 2019 Wedding Season is almost coming to a close! Just 3 weddings left on the schedule! We have had the best time creating beautiful weddings and events for our clients. But 2020 will be one for the books for sure! We have some exciting installations planned and are working at many venues for the first time. Old mills seem to be a theme for us next year. We’ll be at The Providence Cotton Mill, Loray Mill and The Laboratory Mill! If you are getting married in 2020 don’t leave your florals till last minute. SO much planning goes in to what we do as floral artists.

Still waiting on film scans from this shoot but I wanted to share a cell phone preview of my latest project with Lindley Battle Photography and Marla Lawson Events at The Providence Cotton Mill while freshening up this Blog space! I used locally and organically grown Apricot Lisianthus from Copper Sky Farm, Feather Celosia and Lunaria from Blossom and Branch! That meant hand peeling each Lunaria seed pod! Definitely a labor of love but oh so worth it! I always try to source from these two local Huntersville growers when ever I can. Hope you like this little taste of Fall!

How very exciting that this little styled shoot I had the pleasure to participate in is receiving so much attention. It is my very first styled shoot and it did not disappoint! I took this opportunity by the horns to step out of my comfort zone and use different techniques, materials and color palette than my norm. It is so different from anything I have created and was such a liberating and inspiring experience as a designer and as I step out on my own as Fleur-Di-Re in the Charlotte/Lake Norman area of North Carolina. So please, head over to Bustld today to check out the full feature of our jewel toned luxurious bohemian styled shoot! Enjoy!
